Since Friday is St. Patrick’s Day, I thought it might be fun to do a “green” blog.

Going green is good for the environment but also good on your budget. So really it’s a win-win. While investing in renewable energy (solar power or wind power) or updating appliances to energy efficient ones are great ways to go green, it can involve a small “pot of gold.” Here are 10 very low cost ways you can take towards making your home green.

  1. Switch your light bulbs to energy efficient bulbs

  2. Enroll to receive online statements reducing the amount of paper you get in the mail

  3. Seal gaps around doors and windows

  4. Fix leaking faucets

  5. Collect rainwater to water your plants

  6. Turn electronics off at the end of the day

  7. Clean refrigerator coils

  8. Keep your freezer full, it runs more efficiently then when it is empty

  9. Donate items instead of throwing them away.

  10. Run full Loads of dishes and Laundry

a vision for your life
